A body has been found following a hunt for a mother-of-two who was reported missing when her children returned to an empty house.

Rebecca Holdham, known to her loved ones as Becky, was last seen at an address in the Ockley Park estate, near the village of Hassocks, West Sussex, at around 10am on Sunday, September 7.

The 38-year-old's children returned home to find their mother gone, sparking a major operation which has seen drones, dogs and a police helicopter probe the nearby fields and woodlands.

Worried locals spent the ensuing days trawling the countryside as they looked to find the keen horsewoman, whose disappearance has been described as 'completely out of character'.

A woman's body was found on Sunday by a farmer after bringing his sheep into a field between Hassocks and Burgess Hill in West Sussex - a short walk from where the mother was last spotted.
