In the current era, skill development, ably supported with Artificial Intelligence (AI) knowledge, would give the much needed confidence to the younger generation in building a strong economy, said Tamil Nadu Information Technology and Digital Services Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan here on Sunday.
Inaugurating the Madurai Skill Development Academy, an initiative of the Maduraiyil Sivakasi Nadargal Uravinmurai on GST Road, Thirupparankundram, he said that apart from the academic curricula, learning skills in multiple areas would give abundant job opportunities.
Appreciating the donors of the uravinmurai and the academy’s team for establishing the new initiative, he outlined the government’s programmes in skill development, which spelt the nuances on the AI among others. The Minister said that the government would provide all support to the MSDA and hoped the students taking up the courses would benefit.
Offering felicitation, Thiagarajar College of Engineering Principal L. Ashok Kumar said that the TCE faculty team would give training to the students, who could visit their laboratories for practical exposure as it would facilitate them to understand the nuances better and faster.
Equipped with the state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities, which were provided by the TCE management and from the Department of Science and Technology (Government of India), he said that the students from the MSDA would be given guidance in batches.
