Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's flagship restaurant has been slapped with a one star food hygiene rating.
River Cottage Limited, in Musbury, Devon, has been told it needs major improvements over its management of food safety in a damning report by East Devon district council.
The restaurant was also found to have insufficiently clean facilities after an inspection on August 7.
The cafe claims to 'offer a warm, dog-friendly space to enjoy breakfast, lunch, drinks, and cakes while soaking in stunning views of the Axe Valley.'
But it has been told major improvements are needed on food safety, with better systems in place to ensure food is safe to eat.
