A total of 861 graduands were conferred degrees during the 36th graduation day event of N.M.S.S. Vellaichamy Nadar College in Madurai on Saturday.

Academic Chief of the college S. Rethinavelu told the graduands that discipline, skill development and English proficiency, along with education, were important. He advised them to read newspapers regularly, get to know about various schemes of the Central and the State governments and improve their general knowledge. He urged them to become entrepreneurs.

Principal R. Rajeswara Palanichamy welcomed the gathering. President A. Kodeeswaran, Secretary and Correspondent R. Sundar, Vice-President A.C.C. Pandian, Joint Secretary T. Balamurugan, Treasurer T. Thavamani, Vice-Principal J. Fredrick, Director of Self-Finance Programmes S. Ramamoorthy and others were present at the graduation day event.
