Authorities announced Friday that Utah officials have detained a 22-year-old man suspected of killing right-wing activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday at Utah Valley University.

President Donald Trump broke the news during an in-person appearance on “Fox and Friends,” saying he believed “with a high degree of certainty” the shooter had been caught.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) confirmed the arrest in a press conference, naming the suspect as Tyler Robinson.

“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. We got him,” Cox said.

Trump relayed part of the story ahead of the official announcement during his TV news appearance.
