Muslim Londoners have been advised not to avoid the capital tomorrow despite the risk of clashes between thousands of anti-racism protesters and Tommy Robinson supporters.
More than 1,600 police officers, including 500 from forces from outside London, will be deployed on what will be a chaotic day in the capital with two high profile demonstrations and five football matches.
The police will endeavour to keep demonstrators from the Unite the Kingdom march and rally organised by Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley Lennon, away from activists from March Against Fascism, organised by Stand Up To Racism.
Scotland Yard will also have to contend with derbies between West Ham and Tottenham and Brentford and Chelsea, while Charlton will entertain local rivals Millwall in the Championship.
In addition, thousands of Leeds fans will be heading south for their match at Fulham, Nottingham Forest are away at Arsenal and Sunderland are playing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
