Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with internally displaced people in Churachandpur and Imphal during his visit to Manipur on September 13, State Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel has said.
Mr. Modi is scheduled to set foot in Manipur on Saturday, over two years after a deadly ethnic violence swept the northeastern state, and unveil projects to the tune of ₹8,500 crore.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Manipur will pave way for peace, normalcy, growth in the State, Mr. Goel told media on Friday (September 12, 2025) during a briefing on Mr. Modi’s visit to the northeastern State presently under President’s Rule.

Mr. Modi will be laying foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹7,300 crore from Peace Ground in Churachandpur, which witnessed numeric clashes between Kukis and Meiteis. Mr. Modi will also inaugurate infrastructure projects totalling ₹1,200 crore from State capital Imphal.
