CHICAGO — Chicago Sky star Angel Reese sat out with a back injury Thursday for the team’s final regular-season game, a 91-86 loss to the New York Liberty.
Upon entering Wintrust Arena, Reese was welcomed by loud cheers.
Reese last played Sept. 3 in a game against the Connecticut Sun, during which she received her eighth technical foul and a league-mandated suspension. She also served a half-game suspension on Sept. 7 for publicly stating her frustration with the Sky in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, but she did not play the second half due to her back injury. The 23-year-old has been out since.
Overall, Reese has missed 14 games this season.
