President Trump engaged in a tense phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday expressing strong anger over not being informed in advance about Israel's strike targeting Hamas officials in Qatar.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the president told Netanyahu that his targeting of Hamas in Doha was not a smart decision, adding that he was furious to learn about what happened after the fact from U.S. military, instead of America's ally in the Middle East, Israel.
Israel's Prime Minister responded to that by saying he only had a small window of opportunity to launch strikes on Hamas - and seized the opportunity.
There was a second phone call, the WSJ reports. Trump reportedly asked Netanyahu if the attack was a success, and Netanyahu said he didn't know.
Although Hamas leaders claimed that their members survived the attack, it was reported later that six Hamas officials were actually killed.
