A married property developer carried out a sinister campaign of spying and trying to control his mistress - while his childhood sweetheart wife was pregnant with their first child.
Lewis Minnock, 37, bugged his lover's home and car, planted a hidden camera in her bedroom and attempted to hire a private investigator to follow her on holiday.
A court heard how the property developer embarked on a terrifying surveillance and harassment against the woman, leaving her 'a ghost of the person I used to be'.
Minnock, director of Yorkshire-based Sovereign Homes, was spared jail after admitting controlling and coercive behaviour.
His wife, Sarah Minnock, who he met as a teenager, has vowed to stand by him, forgiving him as a 'determined, deep-down loyal person'.
