Two arrested for killing python, cooking its meat in Kerala’s Kannur

The Forest department on Thursday arrested two persons for allegedly killing, cooking, and eating a python, a species protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife Protection Act. The incident occurred at Panapuzha village in Kerala’s Kannur district.The accused identified as U. Pramod, 40, and C. Bineesh, 37, both residents of Panapuzha Mundapram, were apprehended from the village. Published - September 11, 2025 03:57 pm IST
