This article is the latest part of the FT’s Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign

Dear readers,

To soften the blow of the back-to-work mood I’m delighted to say that bidding for lunch with your favourite FT columnist is once again a possibility, as we revive our much-loved charity auction.

There are nine star journalists taking part this year. Editor Roula Khalaf leads the roster. She is joined by Martin Wolf, our chief economics commentator, Gideon Rachman, our chief foreign affairs commentator, and columnists Gillian Tett, Jemima Kelly, John Burn-Murdoch, Simon Kuper, and Tim Harford, as well as top investigative reporter Dan McCrum. The auction of each “lot” will run for the next few weeks, barring someone exercising a high-price “buy it now” option.

Lunches will be hosted at some of the finest restaurants in London and New York, all of which are kindly hosting us free of charge.
