Hamas's leadership is once again reeling after Israel unleashed yet another surprise attack targeting several of the terror group's top henchmen in Qatar on Tuesday.
The IDF said that it and the Israel Security Agency, Shin Bet, had 'conducted a precise strike' on several members of Hamas's political bureau in Doha, supposedly during a meeting to discuss Donald Trump's ceasefire proposals.
Saudi media reported that top officials including Khalil al-Hayya, the head of Hamas's negotiating team, Zaher Jabarin, Khaled Mashal, Nizar Awadallah and Mousa Abu Marzook were present in the buildings Israel targeted.
Hamas later claimed that five of its members were killed in the attack, including al-Hayya's son, while the group's top leadership had survived. A member of the Qatari security services also died.
Mashal, 68, is one of Hamas's most recognisable politicians, having led the terror group between 2004 and 2017. He was tipped to be the terror group's next leader following the deaths of Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar last year.
