This is the chilling arsenal of weapons hoarded by a 20-year-old Birmingham man found guilty of possessing a bomb-making video.

A photograph released by counter-terrorism police reveals a terrifying cache uncovered in the bedroom of former motor mechanics student Adam Mahmood – including a machete, an axe, a part-made sword, and a collection of knives.

Mahmood, who had 27,000 followers on TikTok under an account featuring a picture of him in a balaclava, was arrested in April last year after anti-terror police swooped on his home in Sheldon, Birmingham.

Jurors at Birmingham Crown Court heard that Mahmood had downloaded a detailed, 15-minute video on how to make an explosive – a clip he had actively requested online and thanked another user for sending him.

The bomb-making video, with translated captions and instructions, was found during a forensic analysis of his phone.
