Last Tuesday, 350 Israeli reservists announced that they would refuse to serve if called up to participate in the conquest of Gaza City. At a press conference in Tel Aviv, representatives of the group described this new phase of the war – approved by the security cabinet despite opposition from the country's top security brass – as a "political, cynical and dangerous step" that would endanger the lives of hostages, Israeli soldiers and innocent civilians in Gaza.
