A Russian glide bomb has struck a village in eastern Ukraine as pensions were being distributed, killing more than 20 civilians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

The bomb hit the village of Yarova in the Donetsk region, Mr Zelensky said in a post on Telegram in which he shared a video of the horrifying attack.

Zelensky posted amateur video from the scene showing corpses strewn across the ground and a burned-out minivan near a playground, with personal belongings, papers, and shoes scattered all around.

'Frankly brutal,' he said of the attack, urging the international community to make Russia pay economically for its invasion through additional sanctions.

'The Russians continue destroying lives while avoiding new strong sanctions and new strong blows', he said.
