Tim Davie says he cannot give a 'categorical assurance' that there will not be any more scandals to come out about BBC talent in the wake of recent scandals - as he described scenes of Bob Vylan at Glastonbury as 'antisemitic'.

The director general of the BBC told MPs on the Culture, Media and Sport Committee that the fact the rap group were able to chant 'death, death to the IDF' on an iPlayer livestream was 'very disturbing'.

Committee Labour MP James Frith described how the rap group 'whipped up' the crowd into an 'antisemitic frenzy', and asked whether staff had 'misread' the situation - after deciding not to air the rap group Kneecap because one of its members is facing an allegation of supporting a terrorist group.

Responding, Mr Davie said: 'The fact that was broadcast to a live audience was very disturbing. The BBC made a very significant mistake.'

He vowed that those who were involved in the 'antisemitic broadcast' were facing 'consequences' but declined to provide further details.
