Lord Mandelson called Jeffrey Epstein his 'best pal' in a ten-page birthday message to the convicted paedophile.
The missive was among a trove of documents released by US lawmakers last night and formed part of a 'birthday book' given to Epstein by Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003.
Mandelson, who Sir Keir Starmer appointed in December as the British Ambassador to the US, supplied a picture of himself talking to Epstein while dressed in a bathrobe with slick hair.
He is seen laughing while sitting on a chair on the decking outside a home.
In another image, a topless Lord Mandelson wearing swimming shorts gazes out while on a balcony.
