According to local media, the row began outside a boutique on Atatürk Street when a group of six British holidaymakers got into a heated exchange with a local shopkeeper who had been sitting at the entrance of his store.
Initially, there were raised voices as the two sides traded words. But it soon escalated when fists were thrown.
