This is the terrifying moment gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons on a bus in Jerusalem, killing six people, including a pregnant woman and leaving many more wounded as panicked civilians ran for their lives.

The bloodbath occurred at the Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street in Jerusalem on Monday morning, around 10:13am. The assailants were shot dead.

Harrowing footage of the attack showed dozens of people fleeing from a bus stop as shots were fired at the busy intersection during the morning rush hour. Some were seen falling to the ground as panic set in.

Hamas praised two Palestinian 'resistance fighters' and hailed the attack without claiming responsibility. The group called it a 'natural response to the occupation's crimes against our people'.

The ambulance service identified the five victims as a 50-year-old man, a woman in her fifties and three men in their thirties. It said 11 other people had suffered injuries, including six who were in a serious condition with gunshot wounds.
