Young activists from the left-wing Democrats party hung hundreds of fake funeral notices across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Sunday night to protest the plan to occupy Gaza.
The notices, which were hung near Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence in Jerusalem and around the Likud headquarters in Tel Aviv, read "A martyr fell in the battle for the preservation of the government. His funeral will be held next week, in a month or whenever his turn comes. Enough of the war. Enough of the sacrifice."
In the place where the name of the dead is usually put, the signs read "your son", "your father," "your brother," "your neighbor," among others.
The organization said in a statement that "the occupation of Gaza will not bring security or victory – it will bring the deaths of the living hostages and dozens of soldiers in a political war aimed at the survival of the coalition."
