Floods of faeces, mouldy kitchens and broken stairs are just a handful of hazards one can expect to find when purchasing a newbuild home.

Tom Britton, managing director of HomeSnag, a newbuild inspection company, explained to the Daily Mail there are several key snags he constantly finds when visiting new properties.

One of the biggest benefits of buying a newbuild home is that they are heat efficient, typically guaranteeing new owners warmth throughout the winter.

However, Tom explained that it's not uncommon to find missing or no insulation whatsoever.

'A lot of the time when we go and do our thermal heat loss surveys in the winter we find a lot of newbuilds have got large gaps in the cavity wall insulation or not any at all,' he explained.
