Aam Aadmi Party's convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (September 7, 2025) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "show some courage" and impose a 75% tariff on imports from the U.S. in response to its 50% tariff on Indian exports.
At a press conference, Mr. Kejriwal claimed the Centre's decision to exempt 11% duty on cotton imports from the U.S. till December 31, 2025, would hurt the Indian cotton farmers. It will make the U.S. farmers rich and Gujarat cultivators poor, he added.
