Sir Chris Hoy is calling on men with prostate cancer to be more active to help with their quality of life as he battles the devastating disease himself.

The retired champion track cyclist, who was once Scotland's most successful Olympian, was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in 2023 following a routine check on a shoulder strain.

Further scans revealed the primary cancer to be in his prostate, which had spread to his bones.

A year later, he was told his condition was terminal and that he had between two and four years to live.

The six-time Olympic gold medallist first said he was having cancer treatment last February before he made the prognosis public in October, adding he only had two to four years to live despite undergoing chemotherapy.
