The United States is facilitating Israeli annexation, said Shahed Ghoreishi, a former U.S. State Department official fired over tensions with the staff of U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
"On the West Bank, we were setting up annexation," Ghoreishi said in an interview with pundit Tucker Carlson. "I think the news from the past couple days shows that's true."
On Wednesday, far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich unveiled his plan to annex 82% of the West Bank, including some areas currently controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
Smotrich said Palestinians living in the annexed territories will not have a right to vote. "In no possible situation will they have the chance of democracy or have rights," he said.
