Migrants living at an Essex asylum hotel have spoken of their 'terror' after a crowd of protesters gathered outside and flares were allegedly thrown close to their accommodation.
A hefty police presence arrived outside The Bell Hotel in Epping after a mob gathered there on Friday night.
Following increased tensions which saw flares and fireworks lit and thrown at the entrance of the building, Essex Police stepped in with a dispersal order.
They confirmed they had arrested a man on suspicion of assault.
The order which is in place until 6am on Saturday will give police the powers to move suspected troublemakers on and those who distress, harass, alarm or damage properties risk being arrested.
