A Royal Military Police officer has been sacked for drunkenly groping a colleague hours after attending a course on ‘unacceptable sexual behaviour’.

Lt Liam Hulkes, 31, whose job involved investigating Army sex crimes, sexually assaulted his victim during a drinking session following the study day last June, having made a series of lewd and unwanted advances.

A court martial yesterday heard how the remorseless officer, who graduated from the prestigious Sandhurst military academy, ‘cupped’ the civil servant's bottom and left her ‘frozen’ in fear.

Hulkes had been attending a course at Worthy Down, Hants, where ‘ironically’ one of the topics covered was ‘inappropriate behaviour in the workplace’, the hearing in Catterick, North Yorkshire, was told.

Later, over dinner and drinks in the officers’ mess, he was seen pestering the woman, as his advances became increasingly sexual.
