One of Britain's biggest asylum hotels has been emptied of migrants - but taxpayers are still footing the bill to pay for rooms.
For years the four-star Crowne Plaza hotel, in West Drayton near Heathrow, has housed hundreds of asylum seekers.
But the sprawling 465-room venue, has had all of its foreign guests removed and is currently standing empty.
Protected by an 8ft wooden barrier around its perimeter, the site acts as a 'ringfenced' overflow hotel to accept asylum seekers when other venues are full.
It means one week it could be packed with dozens of migrants and the next it could be empty - with the taxpayer still footing the bill while the Home Office keeps it open.
