A compilation of legendary comedian Tommy Cooper's best bits has been handed a trigger warning by bosses at ITV.

The broadcaster has warned that sketches by the fez-wearing comic, who was well known for his calamitous attempts at magic tricks, may be offensive to some modern day viewers.

Episodes of the Welshman's 'best bits' uploaded to streaming site ITVX have been issued alerts of 'outdated attitudes' and 'adult humour'.

Cooper, who died of a heart attack live on stage in 1984, was famed for his hilarious wordplay and witty puns.

In one episode of the ITV compilation, Cooper jokes about his wife, Gwen, always being on diet.
