A pensioner who attacked his neighbour with a hammer before going home to grab a knife to stab him to death will die in prison after being sentenced to 22 years behind bars.
Peter Kindell, 80, battered his 76-year-old neighbour after setting him up in the lobby of a block of flats in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, at around 4.30pm on January 3.
He went back to his flat while two brave women intervened and tried to save the victim's life.
They stayed with Mr Jones whilst the pair called an ambulance.
However, while on the phone to the 999 call handler, Kindell returned and savagely stabbed Mr Jones to death.
