Seth Meyers on Wednesday highlighted how Donald Trump is panicking over bipartisan efforts to release the so-called Jeffrey Epstein files, an approach that conflicts with how his administration casts him as an “unstoppable” force.
The “Late Night” host explained that Trump can’t seem to make the saga involving the convicted sex offender go away before tossing to clips of the president calling it a “Democrat hoax” and downplaying it as “total bullshit.”
“I’ll say this about Trump, he’s not big and strong but he definitely sounds like he’s about to cry. The dude is absolutely spooked about this Epstein stuff in a way I’ve never seen before, well, I mean, he looked spooked the other day leaving the White House,” quipped Meyers of Trump, who has faced questions about his health in recent weeks.
Meyers stressed that Trump is “really spinning out” over the Epstein saga and it’s “only getting worse” as Democrats and Republicans push for the Justice Department to release the files in their entirety.
The White House, in response, said its views congressional Republicans joining such efforts as a “very hostile act.”
