Omer Wenkert, who was taken captive into Gaza and freed last year, spoke with Army Radio about his time as a hostage in Gaza, as the IDF operated nearby in the Strip.
"I was always underground, so I didn't feel the IDF forces entering, or know where I was," he said.
"I remember that upon the military entering Rafah, there was a very violent reaction from the catpros. They planted a bomb in the hallway to blow us up if the IDF approached," Wenkert added.
"The captors would try to blur our sense of time. There was a light fixture in the room, and it would go out every day, and that's how I would know that a day had passed."
Wenkert described the deep sense of frustration he feels as hostages are still being held in captivity to this day. "Until the hostages are not here, at home, and the fighting ends – we will continue to bleed from this wound."
