CEO Marc Benioff defended the guidance his company issued — even as the the figures disappointed Wall Street.
“Our results are absolutely fantastic and our guidance is also, you know, is always appropriately conservative,” Benioff said.
Salesforce reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue for the latest quarter but issued disappointing guidance.
Wall Street's stock price forecasts for Salesforce are all over the place, from 14% downside to upside of more than 70%.
Salesforce posted accelerating growth and pushed up its long-range revenue target thanks to a recent acquisition.
Shares fell more than 5% in extended trading. But the quarter wasn't all that bad.
Salesforce's revenue forecast for the current quarter came in below expectations.
