As job prospects dim for new graduates, applications to masters in management programmes have been rising. Last year, nearly 70 per cent of MiM courses worldwide reported application growth — a standout result when demand was flat across most other “pre-experience” business masters.

Typically aimed at recent graduates with little or no work experience, the MiM offers a foundation in business as a launch pad into the workforce with enhanced employability. The uptick in applications comes as graduates from the US to Europe are entering one of the toughest job markets in recent memory.

In the US, recent college graduates aged 22-27 are facing higher unemployment than the national average for workers of that age group, according to government figures — a reversal not seen since the pandemic. The picture is also uncertain in parts of Asia, where some students are opting to delay their entry into the workforce.
