A man accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, last September has made a bizarre offer to prosecutors that plays to the president’s interests.

And, yes, it involves golf.

Ryan Routh, 59, filed a motion Tuesday objecting to an attempt by the prosecution to introduce new evidence just weeks before trial, which is set to begin next week in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Routh called the timing “absurd,” but offered a bizarre and unlikely solution to any impasse, according to the Palm Beach Post.

“If you would like to trade admitting the evidence for my subpoena of that baboon Donald J Trump, bring that idiot on; it is a deal,” Routh wrote.
