Fast fashion giant Shein is being asked to explain itself after a man who looked like alleged murderer Luigi Mangione was spotted modeling an item on its website.
This week, several people spotted someone who looked like the spitting image of Mangione in a now-deleted product listing for a short-sleeved men’s button-up shirt, which was selling for $10.
It was unclear if the image was photoshopped, AI-generated, an uncanny lookalike or the man himself.
Once Shein was alerted about the image, the item was pulled from the site.
The Chinese e-commerce company denied direct responsibility in a statement to ABC News, telling the outlet, “The image in question was provided by a third-party vendor and was removed immediately upon discovery.”
