An 11-year-old girl died after she was found unresponsive in a hotel pool in Fuerteventura, a coroner’s court has heard.
Francesca Mae Blease was found in the swimming pool in the town of Morro Jable in the south of the Canary Island on August 7.
Contemporary reports suggested she was attended to by an on-duty lifeguard before she was rushed to hospital for further treatment.
Tragically, she was pronounced clinically brain dead on August 8.
An inquest opened into her death on Wednesday which heard the girl, from Crewe, Cheshire, had been found unresponsive in a pool.
