Sept. 2 (UPI) -- The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield 2025 combined and joint readiness exercise stands as a compelling demonstration of the operational integration, professionalism and unity that characterizes the alliance between the Republic of Korea and the United States, as well as partnerships with supporting member states of the United Nations Command.
This year's iteration continued the annual validation and evolution of military capabilities, reflecting the alliance's unwavering commitment to defending democracy, deterring aggression and ensuring stability in one of the world's most complex security environments.
To be clear: the combined military force is mission-focused, and the relationships among the Republic of Korea, the United States and United Nations Command militaries are as strong as ever, doctrinally, professionally and personally.
What Is Ulchi Freedom Shield 25?
Ulchi Freedom Shield 25, held from Aug. 18 to Sunday, was the second of two major annual exercises conducted by South Korea and the United States intended to enhance combined readiness, deter North Korean threats and reinforce regional stability.
