A cake shop boss has been allowed to stay in the UK while wanted over a murder case in his home country.
Carlos Kassimo Dos Santos, 33, was given in his absence a 14-year prison sentence in Portugal nine years ago, in connection with an alleged gang killing.
Portuguese authorities had tried to extradite him to serve his term there, but London's High Court reportedly upheld a district judge's ruling to let him stay here.
Mr Santos, who denied involvement in the 2010 murder, could not be guaranteed a retrial and it was not proved he fled justice, a ruling found.
Mr Santos now co-owns a cafe called Kings And Queens Desserts, in Leeds.
