The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has sought response from the State to a public interest litigation petition seeking a direction to the State to constitute the State and district-level police complaints authority in Tamil Nadu.
A Division Bench of Justices Anita Sumanth and C. Kumarappan sought response of the State on a petition filed by P. Ayyakannu of Tiruchi. The petitioner sought a direction to the State to constitute the State and the district-level authorities as per the Supreme Court’s judgment in 2006.
