There was widespread public anger over the weekend as a group of travellers set up an unauthorised encampment on public football pitches.
Around a dozen caravans and vehicles descended on the grounds at Eliburn Park, in West Lothian and home of Livingston FC Community Club, disrupting the regular schedule of children's matches and training sessions.
The pitches, which are usually used throughout the week by both adult and youth teams, now face possible closures, with games this week at risk of being cancelled.
One Scottish cup game on Saturday has already been forced to be moved because of the illegal encampment.
The club wrote on Facebook: 'A big thank you to Murieston United Football Club for accommodating us for our Scottish cup game on saturday due to our current pitch issue.
