Sept. 2 (UPI) -- The Powerball jackpot climbed to a new high of an estimated $1.3 billion for Wednesday night's drawing, after no winner came forward on Labor Day.

If a player wins the upcoming jackpot, they will be able to choose either an annualized prize estimate of $1.3 billion or a lump sum payment of $589 million. If the annuity option is chosen, the winner will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

Ten tickets matched Monday night's all five white balls to win $1 million prizes. The tickets were sold in the states of California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Two tickets in Montana and North Carolina won $2 million by utilizing Power Play. Also, 124 tickets won the $50,000 prize and 25 won the $150,000 prize.

Wednesday's drawing will be the 41st drawing since the last winning Jackpot on May 31, 2024, in California.
