Israel's Education Ministry has decided that in the civics matriculation exams ("bagrut") for the academic year beginning this week, students will not be tested on topics related to liberal democratic principles, socio-economic rights, the legal status of the Declaration of Independence, or the importance of a constitution as a check on government power.
