Labour has been accused of failing to end the working from home culture in Whitehall following a drop in civil servants at the office.

Average occupancy across all ministries fell from 75 per cent in March to 72 per cent in June, official data shows.

In total, 12 departments saw a drop in attendance, while only five recorded an increase.

The biggest fall was at the Cabinet Office – from 98 per cent to 83 per cent.

This is despite the Government retaining the Tory-era requirement that all civil servants spend three days a week in the office.
