A country of 10 million people has spent the past two years conducting war on five fronts with massive military expenditures, the loss of millions of civilian work days for military service, and also bears the costs of supporting the ultra-Orthodox and the settlers on top of it all. And yet, its malls, restaurants and cafes are busy, flights for trips abroad are full and unemployment is falling. The stock market is rising, inflation is under control and the shekel is strong. Are we witnessing a modern miracle?
