Telangana government has formed a committee for formulation of Telangana Education Policy as a guiding document for ‘TelanganaRising 2047’, keeping in view the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the specific education needs and aspirations of the State. A memo on this was issued by the Education department’s Secretary Yogita Rana on August 29. The Committee was requested to submit its report by October 30.
Its terms of reference include studying the provision of the NEP and adapt them to Telangana‘s context; to align education frameworks with emerging job markets, skills and global opportunities with special focus on digital transformation in innovation and entrepreneurship; to recommend measures to strengthen research and collaboration between academy and industry; to suggest reforms across school, higher, technical, vocational, skilling, and professional education, ensuring accessibility, equality and quality, and any other terms of reference.
