A coroner has criticised an NHS trust over the suicide of a teaching assistant who had ‘begged’ to be sectioned but was ignored.
Samantha Young, 49, made 'repeated pleas' to be admitted to hospital in the days preceding her death due to fears she would take her own life, an inquest heard.
Despite the mother doing 'all she could to help herself and remain in the life of her daughter', she was later found dead at her home.
Ms Young's family said they believed Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s mental health team ‘refused’ to help her three times in the last ten days of her life and ‘effectively assisted in the death of our sister’.
They warned that 'more people will die' if the NHS is not 'held to account for their failing'.
