A domestic violence victim claims her life was saved by ‘Siri’ after it heard her screams for help when she was beaten and sexually abused.
As Emma-Louise Kelly was being subjected to a horrendous 30-minute ordeal, she yelled at her mobile phone's digital assistant: ‘Call 999’.
Within 20 minutes, police turned up at the mother-of-one’s home – without her having to make a 999 call.
Her then-boyfriend Lee Thomas, 45, has since been jailed for the attack, in which Ms Kelly was slapped, punched, kicked, strangled and molested, as well as being verbally abused.
Ms Kelly, who has a seven-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, said: ‘I thought I was going to die - I was desperate and helpless. I'm so grateful for Siri for connecting to the police as if she didn’t, I might not be here - she saved my life.’
