Six Labour councillors who were part of a notorious WhatsApp group exposed by The Mail on Sunday are set to be criticised by an investigation.

Former Labour Health Minister Andrew Gwynne, who was also part of the ‘Trigger Me Timbers’ group chat, was sacked by No. 10 after The MoS revealed some of the vile racist, sexist and anti-Semitic jokes and comments he and other members had shared.

Fellow group member and Labour MP Oliver Ryan was suspended for six months.

Now Tameside council, in Greater Manchester, has concluded an independent investigation into six of its sitting councillors who were part of the group.

The probe has found them all in breach of the council’s Code of Conduct, according to a draft 91-page report exclusively seen by The MoS.
