Welcome to our live coverage for qualifying for the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix. This will be the penultimate grand prix (for now) at the Zandvoort circuit, having returned from several decades off in 2021. Has it been a success? Broadly, yes. It is something a little different to the rest of the European races and Max Verstappen has generally pleased the hundreds of thousands of Dutch fans who attend every year.

What chance have we of an orange victory this year? Well, when it comes to Max Verstappen, it is a distant hope. His Red Bull is not what it was two years ago (or even one year ago) and a good result would be a podium. We will almost certainly see an orange win of another kind though because surely one of the two McLarens of Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri is going to take victory here this weekend.

That has been the evidence of the first three practice sessions so far and, really, the last handful of races, too. The team are going for a fifth consecutive one-two finish. That would be an equal record with Ferrari (2002) as well as Mercedes, who managed it a few times in their dominant days before the turn of the decade.

As it stands, if another car gets within half a second of either McLaren that would be a good result. That said, things often tighten when it gets down to the business end of the weekend. Mistakes are made and things to do not always end up as expected. That is perhaps all we can hope for. At least it’s close between the two McLarens...
